Surface-level pinpointing of buried supply leaks.
Once correlation has placed a leak within a metre or two, a ground microphone walks the surface to refine the location to within centimetres. This is the surface-pinpointing step that takes correlation results from "about here" to a single saw-cut spot on pavement or a single shovel cut on soil. We carry both fluid-coupled and electronic ground microphones suited to different surface types — asphalt, concrete, grass, gravel — and we operate them as part of an integrated survey, not as a standalone trick.
Acoustic Leak is a sub-division of Leak.ca, the Greater Vancouver leak detection company trusted since 1999. Every site visit is delivered by certified technicians using calibrated equipment, with documented findings formatted for insurance, engineering and procurement use.
We don't sell remediation. Our role is independent detection and assessment — the data you and your professional team work from.
If ambient noise during the day is a problem, yes — night surveys are common on busy mains.
Each surface has its own attenuation and noise profile. The technique adapts; the principle is the same.
Yes, with internal acoustic methods rather than ground mics. We adjust the toolset to the site.
